After a 2 year hiatus Reckless Yes is opening a new chapter for the label with the release of compilation Among The Wildflowers.
The album features tracks by Charley Stone, Chorusgirl, DUCK, Electric Pets, Feral Five, Grawl!x, Hannah Kessler, Knitting Circle, S.J. Thomas, and Tiger Island. While some of these artists have worked with the label previously, others are new to the family, but together they set the scene for the return of the independent and ethical label.
Among The Wildflowers will be released on vinyl, CD and as a limited digital release (Bandcamp only), with fanzine-style sleevenotes, on 7 October 2025.
Reckless Yes co-founder Sarah Lay (she/her) said: “With our first release in this second era for the label we’ve referenced the beauty, resilience, and necessity of wildflowers as a metaphor for independent artists and the DIY scene. Among the Wildflowers celebrates the importance of the often overlooked vibrancy of the modern underground, with artists from different backgrounds, with different experiences, but all sharing their truth.
“It’s lovely to return and a privilege to be able to continue working with artists we’ve released with in our earlier years, and to add some new bands to our family too.”
Reckless Yes co-founder Pete Darrington (he/him) said: “A compilation seemed the obvious thing to do when we finally were able to return – we’ve both had some serious real life stuff going on that meant that we had to put the label on hold.
“So, it seemed logical that the first thing we should do is a record that would make the perfect introduction to what our little label is all about if you didn’t know us before and it could also serve to remind those fans who loved our artists and the label in general that we were still the same entity with the same values.
“Even though some of the family has changed as some artists have moved on, we’re still championing new and exciting underground music that we feel you should know about.”
